The tour begins at Bacino Orseolo just behind Saint Mark’s Square, following smaller but unbelievably beautiful secondary canals such as Rio dei Barcaioli, where Mozart’s home is located, and Rio dell’Ovo which connects to the Grand Canal. From here, you will have a spectacular view of the Rialto Bridge on your right, and to your left imposing palazzi such as Ca’ Farsetti, the seat of the municipal government and Palazzo Grimani, the largest building overlooking the Grand Canal and at present the Appellate Court of Venice. The tour continues down Rio San Luca where it passes Palazzo Manin, the residence of the last Doge of Venice, Ludovico Manin, and today the Bank of Italy’s regional headquarters. The tour ends back at the original departure point, Bacino Orseolo gondola station.
The service may be purchased up to 48 hours in advance.
For groups over 10 people (reservations for more than 2 gondolas) we invite you to contact us in order to gurantee the same departure time for each gondola reserved.
